Foot for Thought
Students Motivated by the Arts and JJC RSAT Program

This poster was made using the feet and writings of boys from the Youngstown Juvenile Justice Center, under the direction of SMARTS' teachers Suzanne Gray and Kelly Bancroft.

"The writing teacher and I spent weeks with the boys, talking about where their feet had taken them, how they could connect the theme of souls and soles, what they themselves could do to foster peace. The project made them realize that choices and decisions impact not only one's self, but the world at large. They were excited to be a part of such a global project, knowing that their words and works would promote a feeling of unity."
